Destiny is Fantastic and People Are Furious

Let’s get something straight right now: I adore Destiny. It’s a fantastic game. The graphics are breathtaking. The score is epic, robust, and gorgeous. The gameplay is smooth, fun and dynamic. The gunplay is exciting. It’s challenging, interesting, and on the whole is the best new IP I’ve played in… Jesus, I don’t know. Years, certainly. So this begs the question, why are so many negative reviews floating around? Why is the game’s metacritic score hovering around 7 or 7.5? What the hell is happening here? Well, it’s three things. The first two are simple, closely related, and absolutely idiotic....

Destiny: At First Glance

Over 500 million USD of games shipped. Nearly 10 million pre-ordered copies. Bungie came out with their new flagship game, Destiny, on September 9th. After a few days of hands-on with the interstellar blockbuster, it is time to share some first impressions. You see, the press didn’t get much advance time to review the game, and with good reason. Bungie wanted their world to be properly populated with the numerous random encounters with other players, something reviewers wouldn’t have got if they played a week or a month early.   The Good Bungie are masters of their own universe.
